Where is the command prompt?
The command prompt is included in Windows 8 and Windows RT, even though it doesn't appear on the Start screen by default. You can even add it to the Start screen if you want to open it more quickly. For more information, see Adding applications, websites and more to Start.

To open the command prompt

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the top-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, then click Search.)

Enter command prompt in the search box, tap or click Apps, then tap or click Command Prompt.
