Find out if your hardware is compatible with Windows

To find out if your hardware (or hardware you plan to buy) is compatible with Windows Vista, go to the Windows Vista Compatibility Center website. This website contains a comprehensive list of devices that work with Windows Vista. You’ll find thousands of hardware products listed here—everything from Bluetooth adapters and camcorders to webcams and wireless network cards.

If you are running Windows XP and plan to upgrade your computer to Windows Vista, you can find out if your computer is ready for Windows Vista by downloading and running the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor from the Microsoft website. It will scan your computer and tell you which components and devices you should upgrade or replace before upgrading to Windows Vista, as well as alert you to any incompatible programs.
