Remove red eye from a picture
If you've ever used a flash when taking pictures, you've probably noticed that the people in your pictures sometimes appear to have red eyes. This is called red eye, and is caused by the camera flash bouncing off of the person's retina. You can minimize red eye by using the red eye reduction feature in your camera. You can also use Windows Photo Gallery to reduce or eliminate red eye in your pictures after they've been taken.

Open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button 
, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

Click the picture you want to correct, and then, on the toolbar, click Fix.

In the Fix pane, click Fix Red Eye.

Click the upper-left corner of the first eye that you want to correct, and then drag the mouse pointer to the lower-right corner of the eye to create a selection around the eye.

Repeat the selection for each eye that you want to correct.
Tips

You can increase the amount of red eye that you remove by selecting an eye more than once.

If Fix Red Eye doesn’t appear to have any effect on your picture, the eyes might be too dark. Try clicking Auto Adjust first, and then click Fix Red Eye.
