To show or hide the Favorites, Command, and Status bars
To open the Favorites bar on the left side of the browser
Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button 
. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
On your keyboard, hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys, and then press the I key.
