Upload photos and files

Depending on the web browser you use, you can upload files up to 2 GB in size. To upload files and folders to SkyDrive automatically by adding them to a SkyDrive folder on your computer, install the SkyDrive desktop app.

To upload files on SkyDrive

  1. Go to SkyDrive.com.

    You might need to sign in with your Microsoft account.

  2. To add files to a folder, open that folder.

  3. Click Upload.

  4. You might be prompted to install Microsoft Silverlight. After you install it, you can:

    Drag your files into the Drop files here area, staying on the page until they finish uploading, and you're done.

    -or-

    Click select them from your computer.

  5. Pick the files you want to upload, and then click Open.

  • Microsoft might limit the number of files that you can upload to SkyDrive each month.

  • Please respect copyright and be careful what you share online. Copying or sharing unauthorized materials violates the Microsoft service agreement.
