Update Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player is updated from time to time with new features and performance enhancements. You can let the Player check for updates automatically or you can check for updates manually. To update the Player, you must be logged on to your computer as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group, and you must be connected to the Internet.
Show all-
Click the
Start button

, click
All Programs, and then click
Windows Media Player.
If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the
Switch to Library button

in the upper-right corner of the Player.

Click the Help menu, and then click Check for Updates.
If the Help menu isn't visible, you'll need to show the menu bar. To do so, click Organize, point to Layout, and then select Show menu bar.

Click the
Start button

, click
All Programs, and then click
Windows Media Player.
If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the
Switch to Library button

in the upper-right corner of the Player.

Click Organize, and then click Options.

Click the Player tab, and then select the interval option that you want under Check for updates.
For example, if you want to check for updates every day, select Once a day.
