-
Click Close account.
-
Verify that the correct Microsoft account appears, type your password, and then click Next.
Click deactivate your Hotmail account.
Click Close account.
To close only your Outlook.com or Hotmail account

After an account becomes inactive, all messages, folders, and contacts are deleted, and incoming messages are sent back to the sender as undeliverable. If you want to close your account right away:
-
Visit the close account
webpage.
-
Follow the instructions, and then click Close account to close your account.
Notes
-
If you have a Hotmail Plus, Xbox Live, or other subscription, cancel that subscription before you close your Microsoft account.
If you manage a child's Microsoft account, the child's Microsoft account permissions will be revoked if you close your Microsoft account.
Some of your information won't be deleted. To learn more about this, see the privacy statement.
