Storage limits in Outlook.com

Microsoft Outlook includes email storage that expands to provide you with as much storage space as you need. Your inbox capacity will automatically increase as you need more space.

If your inbox grows too fast, you might not be able to send or receive any more messages. Here are some suggestions to help you manage your account so that it doesn't become too large:

  • Create an archive. Set up a folder on your computer's hard disk where you can save large attachments, and then delete them from your inbox.

  • Empty your Junk and Deleted message folders. To do this, right-click the folder you want to empty, and then select Empty folder from the menu.
