Looking for Windows Calendar?
You might have noticed that Windows Calendar isn't included in Windows 7. You can manage your calendar and events by installing a calendar program from another company or you can use Windows Live—programs for your computer and online services that work together. And, they're free!
Connect when you want
Mail now includes features to help you manage your calendars, as well as e‑mail accounts, contacts, and more. Windows Live
Mail might already be installed on your computer. To see if it's installed, click the Start
, type Windows Live Mail
, and see if it appears in the results. If it doesn't, you can download and install Windows Live Mail
, which is part of Windows Live
Essentials, for free.
These are just some of the things that you can do with calendars in Windows Live Mail:
One calendar or separate calendars: you decide. You can create multiple calendars and manage your schedule.
Put a copy on the refrigerator. You can print day, week, or month views of your calendars.
Keep everything in sync. If you use online calendars on Windows Live, any changes that you make to your online and offline calendars are synchronized automatically when you sign in.
Use an online calendar
If you use Windows Live Calendar, your calendars and tasks are always available from any computer that's connected to the Internet, plus there's nothing to install.
These are just some of the things that you can do with Windows Live Calendar:
No need to re-create the wheel. You can import calendars from programs or subscribe to online calendars.
Organize it how you want to see it. Create separate calendars for family activities, work, and appointments.
See it at a glance. Use different colors for each of your calendars to know what types of activities you have coming up for that day, week, or month.
Never forget another important birthday. Add birth dates for your contacts and they appear on your birthday calendar every year. Also, get notifications of upcoming birthdays and other events.
Let everyone keep track of their own schedule. Friends and family can create their own calendars and share them with you, and you can share your calendars with them. You can also let them add and change events on your calendars, if you want.
