Setting up support for applications

The Windows Process Activation Service supports applications that use different ways to transfer information. For example, a web-based application uses HTTP, and another type of application might use Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP).

The Windows Process Activation Service provides the following features:

  • A process model for developing and running applications

  • The Microsoft .NET Framework to allow application development using ASP.NET

  • Configuration APIs to configure the process model
