ActiveX controls are small programs that allow websites to provide content such as videos. They allow you to use toolbars, stock tickers, video, and more when you browse the web. However, these programs can sometimes malfunction, or give you content that you don't want. In some cases, these programs can be used to collect information from your computer, damage information on your computer, install software on your computer without your consent, or let someone else control your computer remotely.
ActiveX Filtering prevents websites from installing and using these programs.
