What are the video card system requirements for Windows DVD Maker?

To use Windows DVD Maker, the video card on your computer must support DirectX 9 or higher and use Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) drivers. To determine if your current video card meets these requirements, check the documentation that came with your computer or visit the video card manufacturer's website.

To find information about the video card installed on your computer, do the following:

  1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  2. Click the arrow next to Display adapters to display your video card information.

If you plan to buy a new video card, check the packaging to determine if the video card supports DirectX 9 or higher, and uses WDDM drivers.
