What does it mean to make someone a favorite?

When you make someone a favorite, they always stay at the top of your list of friends in the Favorites category. You also see more social updates about these friends.

To add a friend to the Favorites category

Open Windows Live Messenger by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Messenger, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Live Messenger.
Sign in with your Windows Live ID.
Point to someone in your list of friends.
In the menu that opens, click Add to Favorites.
