Get access from the road

When you use SkyDrive to save files, you have automatic access to the latest versions of your files wherever you are—in or out of the office. If you’re on the road a lot, using multiple devices, your files on SkyDrive are automatically available from any device—your PCs, Macs, phone, or iPad.

Be a presentation machine

If you do a lot of presentations, SkyDrive can help you access them and share them with clients.

Keep your PowerPoint on SkyDrive, and if your computer dies or goes missing, you can view your presentation using the PowerPoint Web App. Make last-minute edits from any device with a web browser, even if the computer doesn’t have Office installed.

Send a link, not a presentation

Instead of sending your presentations in email and grappling with those huge file sizes, just share a link to it on SkyDrive. SkyDrive lets you upload really large files of up to 2GB. If you make an edit to the presentation on SkyDrive after you send it, you won’t have to send it again—anyone who has the link will have access to your latest version.

Be a project management ninja

Sending dozens of versions of a document to a group of people for editing and review is a pain. Use SkyDrive to keep your files in one place. Contributors can access the document even if they don’t have Office installed. They can edit it right in SkyDrive with free built-in Office Web Apps. Changes are automatically saved to SkyDrive so everyone has access to the latest version.

Meeting notes simplified

If you take meeting notes in OneNote, you can sync and store them on SkyDrive. You and your colleagues can edit the notes with the OneNote web app on SkyDrive, or OneNote for iOS, Android, or Windows Phone. Just create your OneNote in the OneNote app or on SkyDrive.com.

Send files and communications to large audiences

Never lose another email. With SkyDrive, you can keep all your materials in one place and email recipients can simply click a link to your folder on SkyDrive to access the latest files.

Whether you have PR kits, annual reports, marketing guidelines, or other communications you need to send to a large audience, SkyDrive is a great place to store them. After you’ve added the files to SkyDrive, you can send out a link to the files instead of attaching them to an email. This way, attachment limits are no longer an obstacle—with SkyDrive, you can upload files as large as 2GB.

If you use Outlook, you can access your docs on SkyDrive easily with the SkyDrive Gadget for Xobni. The gadget lets you send someone a link to your file right in Outlook, in fewer steps than it takes to send an attachment.

If you need a service that’s built for your business, check out Microsoft Office 365. Office 365 includes a password-protected site where you can store and share files. It’s similar to SkyDrive but also includes business email using your company domain name, shared calendar, video conferencing, and easy-to-use tools to add users and manage access to your site.
