Add photos from your phone to Windows Live

You take interesting pictures all the time, not just on vacation or at parties. And now it's easy to publish and share them right away. Just create some photo albums, take some pictures with your phone, and publish them via the mobile website.

Create an album for your photos

You can't create new photo albums with your phone, but you can add your photos to existing albums, or to the default mobile album that's created if you skip this step. To simplify adding photos from your phone, start by creating an album—or several—on your PC. For example, if you take random photos with your mobile phone, you could create an album called Random photos and add your photos there.

  1. On a PC, go to your photos on the Windows Live website, and then sign in with your Windows Live ID.

  2. Click Create album.

  3. In the Name text box, enter a name for your album.

  4. In the Share with list, select who can see these photos: Everyone (public), My network, Just me, or Select people.

  5. Click Next.

  6. To leave the album empty, click Cancel.

Add photos from your mobile phone

Here's where the fun part starts!

  1. On your phone, open your web browser, go to photos on the Windows Live website, http://mphotos.live.com, and then sign in with your Windows Live ID.

  2. Click Your photos.

  3. In the list of photo albums, select the one that you want to add your photo to.

  4. Click Add photos.

    Depending on the size of your screen and the number of albums you have, you may need to scroll down to click the link.

  5. Click Browse and find the photo that you want to add. You can add up to 3 photos at a time.

  6. Click Add.

    Your photos are added to your album. You can see them in the album on your phone and on a PC.

Tip

Use a PC to add more info about your photos—add captions, tag people you know, and send a link to your album so others can view your photos.
