Automatically log on to a remote computer using Remote Desktop Connection

You can set up your computer to automatically log on to a remote computer using Remote Desktop. If you do this, make sure that no one else uses your computer unless you want that person to have access to the remote computer.

  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Remote Desktop Connection.

  2. In the Computer box, type the name of the remote computer you want to connect to.

  3. Click Connect.

  4. Type your user name and password in the dialog box that appears, and then click Remember my credentials.

Note

Depending on the policies of your network or the configuration of the computer that you are connecting to, you might still be asked to type your password, even though you have completed the steps above.
