Change the preferred game controller
You might need to change the preferred game controller setting if a game you're trying to play does not recognize the controller you want to use.

Open Game Controllers by clicking the Start button 
, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware, clicking Game Controllers, and then clicking Change the default game controller.

In the list that appears, right-click the controller you want to use, and then click Move to top.
