Change the type of calendar Windows uses

When you choose a locale for the format of the date, time, currency, and measurements, Windows automatically changes the calendar to match your locale choice. However, some regions support multiple calendar types, and you might want to choose a type different from the one Windows selects.

  1. Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.

  2. Click the Formats tab, and then click Customize this format.

  3. Click the Date tab.

  4. Under Calendar, in the Calendar type list, select a calendar type.

    Note

    Note

The Calendar type list is visible only if there are multiple calendar types available for the locale you select.
