Find out which version of Internet Explorer you're using

The information in this Help topic applies to Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Internet Explorer 8.

To find out which version of Internet Explorer you're using, the cipher strength (SSL) it is using, the product identification number, or to see when the latest update was applied, follow these steps.

  1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.

  2. Press ALT+H, and then click About Internet Explorer.
