Keep information current on a Windows SideShow–compatible device

Information on your Windows SideShow–compatible device cannot be updated if your computer is sleeping. You can keep information on a device current by allowing Windows to wake your computer periodically. After a few minutes, your computer returns to sleep. If you are logged off or your computer is turned off, Windows cannot wake your computer to update information on your device.

  1. Open Windows Sideshow by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Windows SideShow.

  2. Click Set my computer to wake automatically.

  3. Select the Automatically wake my computer check box, select when you want Windows to wake your computer, and then click OK.
