Manage disk space for offline files

Offline files are copies of network files that are stored on your computer so that you can access them when you are not connected to the network or when the network folder with the files is not connected. The size and number of your offline files determines how much hard disk space your offline files use.

By managing your offline files disk usage, you can:

  • Find out how much hard disk space your offline files are currently using.

  • Choose how much hard disk space to allow for your offline files (maximum disk usage).

To perform any of these offline files disk usage tasks, follow these steps:

  1. Open Offline Files by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Offline Files.

  2. Click the Disk Usage tab.

  3. Check your disk usage information or perform any other tasks, and then click OK.
