Move windows between multiple monitors

You can easily extend your Windows desktop across more than one monitor. A display that spans two or more monitors significantly increases your desktop area so that you can drag windows and program icons to any location on the extended desktop.

By default, when you connect another monitor, the same image of your desktop appears on the display of each monitor. Before you can drag a window from one monitor display to another, you must change your display setting to Extended. For more information, see Set up multiple monitors.

To move a window from one display to another

  • Click the title bar of the window, and then drag the window to a new location.
