Show or hide common icons on the desktop
You can choose to display common Windows features on your desktop. Follow the steps below to add shortcuts to these features to your desktop and to make them easier to find and use.
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization.
In the left pane, click Change desktop icons.
Under Desktop icons, select the check box for each icon that you want to appear on the desktop. Clear the check box for icons that you don't want to appear, and then click OK.
