Troubleshoot problems with CDs or DVDs
If you're having problems with your CD or DVD drive when trying to read or burn a CD or DVD, you can try running a troubleshooter that automatically diagnoses and repairs common problems with disc drives. To do so, go to Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media 
on the Microsoft website, and then click Run now.
