Turn a gadget on or off for a Windows SideShow-compatible device

A gadget, or add-in program, runs on a Windows SideShow-compatible device and updates the device with information from your computer. You can view gadgets that are installed on your device or download additional gadgets for your device in Windows SideShow in Control Panel.

After you install a gadget, you must turn on the gadget in Control Panel.

Some gadgets on the device may have been installed and turned on by your device manufacturer and might not appear in Control Panel. To learn more, check the information that came with your device or go to the manufacturer’s website.

To turn a gadget on or off

  1. Open Windows Sideshow by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Windows SideShow.

  2. For each device, select or clear the check box next to the gadget that you want to turn on or off.
