View computers and devices on a network

If your computer is connected to a network, you can see all of the computers and devices that are currently part of the network in the Network folder. This is useful if you want to use a network resource, such as a printer; open files on another computer; or confirm that a computer or device was added to your network.

  • Open Network by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Network.

If a computer or device that you expect to see is not visible, it might not have been added to the network, the network discovery or sharing settings on your computer or the other computer might be blocking your access, or there might be a problem. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems finding computers on a home network.

    Note

    Note

It might take several minutes for computers running previous versions of Windows to appear in the Network folder.
