What happened to the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

For viewing pictures and faxes, the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer has been replaced by the new Windows Photo Gallery.

To open Photo Gallery, open a folder that contains pictures you want to view, and then double-click a picture icon or thumbnail.
