What is Private Character Editor?

You can use Private Character Editor to create your own characters, which you can then insert into documents by using Character Map.

Using Private Character Editor, you can:

  • Create new characters.

  • Edit existing characters.

  • Save characters.

  • View and browse your character library.

To learn how to use Private Character Editor, go to the Private Character Editor overview page on the Microsoft website.

  • Open Private Character Editor by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, typing eudcedit.exe into the Search box, and then clicking OK.‌ Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
