Turn off accessibility options

The accessibility features you use while working can be set to turn off after a specified number of minutes, so other people can share your computer. Here's how:

To turn of accessibility options using your mouse

  1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, make sure you are in Classic View, with all Control Panel icons showing. If not, click Switch to Classic View in the left pane of Control Panel.

  3. Click Accessibility Options to open the Accessibility Options dialog box. Click the General tab, then select the Turn off accessibility features after idle for check box and choose a time from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click OK, and then click Close.

To turn of accessibility options using your keyboard

  1. Display the Start menu by pressing Ctrl+Esc (or the Windows logo key). Then open Control Panel by pressing C.

  2. In Control Panel, make sure you are in Classic View, with all Control Panel icons showing. If not, go to the left pane of Control Panel and open Switch to Classic View by pressing Tab and then Enter. Press the arrow keys to move to Accessibility Options, and then press Enter.

  3. In the Accessibility Options dialog box, move to the General tab by pressing Ctrl+Tab. Select the Turn off accessibility features after idle for check box by pressing T. Specify the idle time by pressing Tab, and then press the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to select the number of minutes. Press Enter.

  4. Close Control Panel by pressing Alt+F, C.
