Make a movie with Windows Live Movie Maker

Windows Live Movie Maker, part of Windows Live Essentials, offers a great way to preserve memories such as vacations or events into little movies that you can then post on YouTube or Facebook or just play on your own computer.

Before starting, check to see if Movie Maker is on your PC. Click the Start button

, type Movie Maker into the search box, and see if it appears in the list of results. If it doesn't, you can download and install it for free from the Windows Live Movie Maker website.

What you'll need:

Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit edition), Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit edition), or Windows Server 2008
1 gigahertz (GHz) or higher processor for Windows 7 or Windows Vista
Internet connection
Graphics or video card (Windows Live Movie Maker requires a video card that supports DirectX 9 or higher, and Shader Model 2 or higher)
