We require that you verify your email address when you add it to your Outlook.com account. That way, we can verify that the email address doesn't belong to someone else.
To verify, sign in to the email address you added and look for a verification email.
Open the verification email and click the link.
If you try to sign in using an email address that hasn't been verified, you'll be asked again to verify it.
If you don't receive a verification email:
Under Managing your account, click Your email accounts.
For the account you added, click Details.
Click Resend verification email.
Sign in to the email account that you added, and then click the verification link in the email.
