Remove or restore items quarantined by Windows Defender

To remove or restore quarantined items

  1. Open Windows Defender by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Defender, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Defender.

  2. Click Tools, and then click Quarantined items.

  3. Click View to see all items. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  4. Review each item, and then click Remove or Restore for each item. If you want to remove all quarantined items from your computer, click Remove all. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
