Windows automatically gives a new network connection a name, but you can change it.
Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
Right-click the connection that you want to rename, and then click Rename.
Type a new name, and then press Enter.
If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
A connection name can't contain tabs or any of the following characters:
\ / : * ? < > |
