Windows 7 makes it a cinch to connect to home, work, and wireless networks so you can share your stuff, surf the web, and get your work done practically anywhere.

At home

HomeGroup is the easy way to connect the PCs running Windows 7 on your home network so you can automatically share printers and libraries (music, video, documents) with other people in your home. You can join a homegroup in any edition of Windows 7, but you can only create one in Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise.

At work

Plan to use your PC at the office—or for telecommuting? Then you might need to connect to a domain, which is a collection of computers on a network. The Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions are designed to join a domain quickly and more securely. Just follow the easy-to-use wizard, which prompts you to enter your network credentials. A few moments later, you're in business.

View Available Networks

Now you can use the View Available Networks feature to see and connect to networks in a couple of clicks. Just click the network icon on the taskbar to see all your wireless and wired options—Wi‑Fi, mobile broadband, dial-up, or corporate VPN. One more click, and you're connected.
