Windows Update error 80004002
If you receive Windows Update error 80004002, it means that some required registry keys are missing. To fix the problem, reinstall the Windows Update client by following these steps:
Open System by clicking the Start button , right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
Under System, note whether the computer's System type is a 32-bit or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system.
