Organize your files with SkyDrive
Stop emailing copies of files to yourself or carrying them around on a USB thumb drive. Instead, use your free 7 GB of SkyDrive storage and a Microsoft account to keep all your files in one place in the cloud and have the latest version on your PC. Free SkyDrive storage options
Try out the SkyDrive desktop app on your PC. It creates a SkyDrive folder on your PC that's available offline and kept in sync with SkyDrive.com when you go online. Any changes you make in this folder will appear on SkyDrive.com and on your other computers (PC or Mac) that have the free SkyDrive app installed. Likewise, your SkyDrive folder will be automatically updated if you add, delete, or change something in any of your SkyDrive locations.
You can also access your SkyDrive by using the SkyDrive app for Windows 8 and Windows RT or by going to the SkyDrive.com website. If you need to work on a file with other people, you can give them permission on SkyDrive.com to view or even edit the file so that you don’t have to send different copies around in email.
Tip
When you install the SkyDrive desktop app, make sure to turn on the Fetch files feature. This way, if you forget to put something in your SkyDrive folder, you can still get to it from another computer.
