If you're ready for the next version, Internet Explorer 9 is now available for download. It's fast, responsive, and designed to make your websites shine. Read on for some Internet Explorer 9 highlights. To get details—and the download—check out the Internet Explorer 9 home page.

Improved performance

Internet Explorer 9 draws on the power of your PC's hardware and works seamlessly with Windows 7, so it's all-around fast, with smooth video and clear, stunning graphics. And Internet Explorer 9 installs faster so you're up and browsing in no time.

Streamlined controls

The new browser frame is simplified to highlight what you use the most—like the Back button—and keep the spotlight on your sites. The Address bar and search bar have merged into one super-useful box, with AutoComplete to help you get where you're going faster. And rather than multiple menus, there's just one.

Pinned Sites

With Pinned Sites, you can get to your favorite sites right from the Windows 7 taskbar. Simply click the icon to the left of the web address and drag it to the taskbar. The site will show up as a button alongside your pinned programs. Then just click it to get back to the site.

Built-in protection

The Internet is full of ever-evolving security threats, from phishing scams to malicious downloads. SmartScreen Filter in Internet Explorer 9 is designed to help protect you from malware, risky downloads, and imposter websites out to get your personal information—so you can browse with confidence.
