If you can't find Internet Explorer on the Start screen or on the taskbar in the desktop, check to make sure it wasn't accidentally unpinned.

  3. In the search results, press and hold Internet Explorer, then tap Pin to Start.

(If you're using a mouse, right-click Internet Explorer, then click Pin to Start.)

Sometimes installing another browser turns off Internet Explorer, so you won't be able to find it using the Search charm. If this happens, try the following steps to turn it back on. Doing this will also repin Internet Explorer to the Start screen.

  3. Tap or click Programs, and under View by:, select Category.

  4. Under Programs and Features, tap or click Turn Windows features on or off.

  5. In the dialogue box select the Internet Explorer 11 check box, then tap or click OK.

  6. When prompted to restart your PC, tap or click Restart now.

  7. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the bottom-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, then click Search.)

  8. Enter Internet Explorer in the search box.

  9. In the search results, press and hold Internet Explorer, then tap Pin to Start and Pin to taskbar.
