Editing payment method for the Windows Store and viewing billing history

When you want to buy an app from the Windows Store, you'll need to add a payment method to your account. You can edit your payment method or view all your purchases and billing history later.

To add or edit the payment method for your Windows Store account

  1. On the Start screen, tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.

  2. Tap or click Account, then tap or click My account.

  3. Tap or click Add payment method or Edit payment method, edit any necessary info, then tap or click Submit.

Notes

  • If you want to buy an app from the Store in a specific country or region, you need to use a payment method from that country or region. For more information, see Using the Windows Store in a different country or region.

  • When you add a credit card as a payment method, Microsoft authorises the card by making a small, temporary charge to your account. You won't pay anything until you buy something from the Store.

  • Your credit card company might charge an International Transaction Fee (ITF) or a currency conversation charge when you buy something from the Store.

To remove a payment method from your account

  1. On the Start screen, tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.

  2. Tap or click Account, then tap or click My account.

  3. Tap or click Remove.

  4. Sign in to the billing website with your Microsoft account.

  5. Tap or click payment options.

  6. Choose a payment method, tap or click remove, then tap or click remove.

To view your billing history

  1. On the Start screen, tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.

  2. Tap or click Account, then tap or click My account.

  3. Tap or click View billing history

  4. Sign in to the billing website with your Microsoft account.

  5. Tap or click payment options.

  6. Tap or click transactions, then choose from the options to view your billing history.

Notes

  • You can only see your billing history after you've added a payment method to your account.

  • To print your billing history, tap or click show print view, then tap or click print.

  • If you have billing questions related to the Windows Store, go to the Microsoft support website, select the Category for your question, then choose a support option.

  • If you can't see Account, your PC doesn't have the latest update for the Store yet. Instead, swipe down from the top edge of the screen (or if you're using a mouse, right-click), then tap or click Your account.
