If your Microsoft account has been compromised – or hacked – it means that someone has stolen your password and might be using your account to access your personal info or send spam. We can help you recover your account and help prevent it from being hacked again.

If you think that your Microsoft account has been hacked, you should try to sign in to it online.
Go to the Account summary web page.
Enter your email address and password, then tap or click Sign in.
If you can still sign in to your Microsoft account, you should change your password immediately, so whoever stole your old password can no longer use it. Under Account security, next to Password, tap or click Change, then follow the instructions.
If you can't sign in to your account, a hacker might have changed your password and taken over your account. Tap or click Can't access your account? or go directly to the Reset your password web page, then follow the instructions.
Adding security info to your account can make it easier to recover your account if someone else takes control of it or you forget your password. As this info is used for your safety, it's a good idea to add as much info as you can.
Go to the Account summary
Under Password and security info, tap or click Edit security info.
Follow the instructions to add or update different types of security info, then tap or click Save.
