Having a conversation with friends

Stay in touch with Facebook and Twitter

It can be hard to keep up with your friends' updates on all the sites you use. Get those updates and Tweets all in one place when you use the People app. Pick and choose if you want to see everything together, if you want to see updates from just one social network at a time, or if you want to see everything from just one person.

See what's new

Keep an eye on what’s new with your friends and family using the People app. When you connect your accounts, like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, you’ll get all the latest updates, Tweets, and pictures, all in one place. Wish someone a happy birthday on their Facebook wall. Comment on an update or retweet a Tweet without switching apps.

To get started, open the People app, and then select What’s new. From here, explore recent updates and Tweets, and like, comment, and retweet all you want.

See updates right from Start

Keep the people you care about front and center. Pin them to Start to see their picture and new updates without even opening an app. It's also a handy shortcut to send them email, start chatting, and more.

Here's how:

  • Open People, find the person you want to pin, and select them.

  • Open app commands—swipe up from the bottom edge (or right-click with a mouse)—and choose Pin to Start. You can use your favorite nickname for them.

Post your own updates

You can keep an eye on your own social updates without bouncing around to different apps when you use the People app. You can also share links, photos, and messages, and write on someone's Facebook wall without leaving the app you're in.
