How to get the latest Internet Explorer Help

The information in this Help topic applies to Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Internet Explorer 8.

Microsoft regularly publishes updated Internet Explorer Help content online. If you're using Windows Help and Support and your computer is connected to the Internet, you can include the latest Internet Explorer Help content from Windows Help online when you search. Search results that include Windows Help online also include new Internet Explorer Help content, so you have a better chance of getting your question answered. To get the latest Internet Explorer Help, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then click Help and Support.

  2. On the toolbar in Windows Help and Support, click Options, and then click Settings.

  3. Under Search results, select the Include Windows Online Help and Support when you search for help check box, and then click OK. The words Online Help will be displayed in the lower-right corner of the Help and Support window when you're connected.
