Windows Update error 84C40007
If you receive Windows Update error 84C40007, it means that an update to SQL Server 2008 can't be installed because of a problem with a .NET Framework installation.
This error occurs when installing SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) on a computer with Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile already installed. Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile doesn't contain the complete set of .NET Framework libraries needed to complete the installation.
To solve this problem, you need to install the full Microsoft .NET Framework 4 package. For installation instructions, go to the Microsoft Download Center on the Microsoft website.
