Windows comes with several screen savers. You can also create your own screen savers from personal pictures you've saved on your computer, or some software companies might develop additional screen savers for download or purchase.
You should only download screen savers from a trusted source. Screen savers have the potential to contain malicious software or spyware. For more information, see Recognizing dangerous file types.
Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.
Under Screen saver, in the drop-down list, click the screen saver you want to use.
Click Preview to see what your chosen screen saver will look like.
You can create a personalized screen saver that displays selected pictures and videos as a slide show.
Under Screen saver, in the drop-down list, click Photos.
Click Settings to choose the pictures and videos you want in your slide show and select other options. After you make your changes, click Save.
For information about installing a screen saver, see the Help that came with the screen saver you want to install. You can uninstall screen savers you install, but the screen savers that come with Windows can't be uninstalled.
To clear a screen saver, move your mouse or press any key.
