How do I add (pin) a destination to the Start screen?

  1. Start on any screen in the Travel app and right-click anywhere on the screen, or on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen to pull down the top navigation bar.

  2. Tap or click the Destinations tile.

  3. Tap or click your destination of choice.

  4. Right-click anywhere on the screen, or on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen to pull down the lower navigation bar.

  5. Tap or click the Pin to Start button.

  6. Tap or click Pin to Start in the pop-up window. You can also select the size of this pinned tile.

How do I look for a destination?

  1. If you have a specific destination in mind, enter the destination name into the search box in the upper-right corner.

  2. To browse destinations, scroll right on the home panorama. If you have allowed the Travel app to use your location, you'll see Local Destinations. These are destinations near your current location. Tap or click More to reveal additional local destinations. You can also browse by region by clicking the region tiles found by scrolling further right.

  3. To browse all destinations, start on any screen in the Travel app and right-click anywhere on the screen, or on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen to pull down the top navigation bar. Tap or click the Destinations tile. Browse by popularity or click Region to browse by regions.

How do I allow the Travel app to use my location?

  1. Swipe away from the right side of your screen or place your cursor in the upper right-hand corner and then move it down.

  2. Tap or click Settings.

  3. Tap or click Permissions.

  4. Set Permissions to On.

How do I save my favorite destinations, hotels, and articles?

  1. Go to a destination panorama by entering the name of the destination into the search box or go to a hotel panorama by using the Search Hotels tool. Tap or click Add to Favorites, found under the destination or hotel name. The destination or hotel will appear on the home panorama under Favorites.

  2. To save an article, right-click while viewing the article, or on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen to pull up the bottom navigation bar. Tap or click Add to Favorites in the lower-right corner. The article will appear on the home panorama under Favorites.

  3. To rearrange your favorites on the home screen, right-click or touch and pull down on a given tile until you see a border highlighting the tile and an X icon appear in the tile's upper right-hand corner. Drag the tile to place it in your preferred list position.

  4. There are three ways to remove an item from your Favorites list. Once you have highlighted the tile in question, tap the X icon and the item will be removed. Or, look for the pencil icon at the top right corner of the Favorites list. Tap or click the icon and X icons will appear on all tiles in your list. Tap or click the X icon on the tile you'd like to remove. The third way is to tap the item in Favorites to open it. With a destination or hotel, tap or click Remove from Favorites. With an article, right-click anywhere on the screen, or on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen to pull up the bottom navigation bar. Tap or click the Remove from Favorites.

How do I search for and book flights?

  1. There are three ways to search for and book flights. On the home panorama look for the Tools and Tasks cluster. Tap or click the Search Flights tile. Or, starting on any screen in the Travel app, right-click anywhere on the screen (on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen) to pull down the top navigation bar. Tap or click the Flights tile. The third option is to scroll to the far right of the home panorama to the Next Steps cluster. Tap or click Search Flights.

  2. Enter your flight information and tap or click Search Flights to see booking choices.

  3. If you want to search for a flight from or to your closest location, tap or click the Current Location icon in the text bar.

  4. Filter flights by price, airline, departure time, return time, or stops.

  5. Sort flights by price, airline, flight time, duration, and stops.

  6. Tap or click your chosen flight. Further details on that flight will appear, such as flight numbers, seating class, and layover details. Tap or click the Book button to reveal the choices of booking providers.

  7. If you’re not ready to book, the Travel app automatically saves your search history so that you can repeat the search later. Your search history will appear to the right of the Search Flights tool. If you would like to clear your search history, tap or click Clear History at the bottom of the Search History list.

  8. Need more information about possible flights before booking? Tap or click the Schedule tab to see current flight schedules from multiple providers.

  9. To get departure and arrival information on today’s flights, tap or click the Status tab.

Note that this feature might not be available in every locale.

How do I look up flight schedules?

  1. There are three ways to search for flight schedules. On the home screen look for the Tools and Tasks cluster. Tap or click the Flight Schedules tile. Or, starting on any screen in the Travel app, right-click anywhere on the screen (on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen) to pull down the top navigation bar. Tap or click the Flights tile. The third option is to scroll to the far right of the home panorama to the Next Steps cluster. Tap or click either Search Flights or Get Flight Status.

  2. Tap or click the Schedule tab and enter your desired flight information.

  3. Tap or click Get Flight Schedules to see current flight schedules from multiple providers, including time, duration, stops, and days of the week.

  4. Filter by airline, stops, and days of the week.

  5. Sort by airline, flight time, duration, stops, and days of the week.

How do I get the latest flight status on departing and arriving flights?

  1. There are three ways to search for a flight’s status. On the home panorama look for the Tools and Tasks cluster. Tap or click the Flight Status tile. Or, starting on any screen in the Travel app, right-click anywhere on the screen (on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen) to pull down the top navigation bar. Tap or click the Flights tile. Your third option is to scroll to the far right of the home panorama to the Next Steps cluster. Tap or click either Search Flights or Get Flight Status tiles.

  2. Tap or click the Status tab. There are two ways to search for flight status. Enter the airport into text box and click Get Status. The airport’s flight board will appear indicating whether flights are early, late, on time, or canceled, as well as departure and arrival times, airport, terminal and gate. You can look up both arrivals and departures. Use the search box to search for any flight. When you have found the flight you want, tap to reveal additional information. Alternately, you can search by specific flight number. Click or tap By Flight on the Flight Search tool. Enter an airline and flight number and tap or click Get Status.

How do I search for and book hotels?

  1. There are three ways to search for hotels. On the home panorama look for the Tools and Tasks cluster. Tap or click the Search Hotels tile. Or, starting on any screen in the Travel app, right-click anywhere on the screen (on a touchscreen swipe from the top or bottom of the screen) to pull down the top navigation bar. Tap or click the Hotels tile. The third option is to scroll to the far right of the home panorama to the Next Steps cluster. Tap or click Search Hotels.

  2. Enter your hotel information and tap or click Search Hotels to see hotel choices with address, phone number, price, hotel class, and amenities list.

  3. You can filter the results by name or address by using the search bar in the upper-right corner.

  4. Search for a specific hotel by name or address in the search box.

  5. Sort the results by name, price, hotel class, or amenities.

  6. Filter by price, hotel class, and amenities.

  7. Tap or click a hotel's listing, which will include some or all of the following: a map of the hotel's location, the hotel description, 360° panoramas, photo galleries, an amenities list, a link to the hotel's website, a link to information about the nearest destination, and links to nearby hotels.

  8. Tap or click Book to complete your booking.

  9. If bookings are available from multiple providers for a given hotel, you'll see all the options listed. You can compare rates and room types before completing your booking at the provider’s website.

  10. If you’re not ready to book, the Travel app automatically saves your search history so that you can book later or book the same hotel at different times. Your search history will appear to the right of the Search Hotels tool. If you would like to clear your search history, tap or click Clear History at the bottom of the Search History. If you would like to quickly access a particular hotel’s panorama, tap or click Add to Favorites under the hotel’s name (where available). The hotel will be added to your Favorites on the home screen. When you’re ready to book, click or tap on the hotel in your Favorites and then click or tap Check Prices.
