Keep Windows Media Center on top of other windows


You can keep Windows Media Center on top of all other windows on your desktop, even while you're working in other programs. This can be useful if you are watching TV in Media Center and working on something else simultaneously. You can also resize the Media Center window so that you can see everything that you want on the desktop or in other programs.

To keep Media Center on top of other windows

  1. Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Center.
  2. On the Windows Media Center start screen, scroll to Tasks, click Settings, click General, and then click Startup and Window Behavior.

  3. Select the Always keep Windows Media Center on top check box, and then click Save.

To resize the Media Center window

  1. If Media Center is in full screen mode, move the mouse to make the mouse controls appear, and then click the Restore button Picture of the Restore button in the upper-right corner.
  2. To change the window size, point to any corner of the Media Center window. When the pointer changes into a diagonal, double-headed arrow Picture of a diagonal arrow that indicates the window height and width are ready to be resized, click the border, and then drag it in any direction.
