You can use the Photos app to view, edit, and import your photos and videos. It includes a wide range of editing options to enhance your photos, from automatic fixes to advanced adjustments. After you've finished editing your photos and videos, you can then share them with friends and family without leaving the app.
The Photos app shows the photos and videos in the Pictures library on your PC. This is primarily your Pictures folder, but can also include external drives, shared network folders, and other folders on your PC. Here's how to see photos and videos saved in other places.
From the Start screen, open the Photos app.
Tap or click Pictures library in the upper-left corner, and then tap or click
You might need to sign in with your Microsoft account to see your SkyDrive
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
Enter File Explorer in the search box, and then tap or click File Explorer.
Browse to the folder that contains your photos.
If your files are on an external drive, connect the drive to your PC.
Tap or click the File menu, and then tap or click Open new window.
In the new File Explorer window, expand This PC, and then tap or double-click Pictures.
Drag or copy the photos you want to see in the Photos app from the original folder into the Pictures folder.
If you have photos in another folder or drive and don't want to move them, you can add them to the Pictures library. To learn how, see Libraries: How to add or remove a folder.
Connecting to services like Facebook and Flickr isn't supported in Windows 8.1
or Windows RT 8.1.
Connect a camera, phone, or external drive to your PC.
From the Start screen, open the Photos app.
Swipe in from the bottom edge to see the app commands.(If you're using a mouse, right-click within the app.)
Tap or click Import.
Import isn't available if you're looking at a single picture in full screen view.

Tap or click the device you want to import from.
Swipe down on or click each photo and video you want to import, or tap or click Select all.
The photos and videos are saved in the Pictures folder in a folder with the date the files were imported.

Browse to the photo you want to edit, and then tap or click it to open it.
Do any of the following:
Tap or click Rotate. This change saves automatically.
Tap or click Crop. You can choose from a list of options or change the size manually.
Tap or click Edit. Tap or click the type of edit you want to make on the left side, and then tap or click the option on the right side.
Types of edits include:
Auto fix, a selection of automatically adjusted images.
Basic fixes, such as cropping, rotating, removing red eye, and retouching.
Light adjustments, such as changing brightness, contrast, highlights, and shadows.
such as changing temperature, tint, and saturation. You can also pick a color and use Color enhance to adjust that color everywhere in the photo.
such as darkening or lightening the corners with Vignette and changing the focus area with Selective focus.
Save the edited photo. You can update the original photo or save a copy with your changes.
Browse to the video you want to shorten, and then tap or click it to open it.
Tap or click Trim, and then move the handles at the left and right ends of the time line to new start and end points.
Tap or click Save a copy.
Go to the folder with the files you want to delete.
Do one of the following:
To delete only one file, tap or click to open it, and then swipe up from the bottom or right-click to see the app commands.
To delete multiple files, swipe down on or right-click each file, or tap or click Select all.
Tap or click Delete.
Use the Share charm to share photos and videos with friends and family directly from the Photos app.
In the Photos app, go to the folder with the photos or videos you want to share.
Swipe down on or right-click each photo or video you want to share.
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Share.(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Share.)
Tap or click the app you want to share with and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can only print one picture at a time when printing from the Photos app. To print multiple pictures at once or to print from a desktop app, see Print a picture.
Find a photo you want to print, and then tap or click it to open it.
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Devices.(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Devices.)
Choose a printer from the list. If you don't see the printer you want, you'll need to add it. For more info, see Install a printer.
You’ll see a preview of what you're printing, along with the number of copies and the page orientation on the preview pane.
To see what else you can do, tap or click More settings. The options you see in this section come from the printer manufacturer, so your choices will vary depending on the printer.
When everything is set up, tap or click Print.
You can use one of your photos as the image you see on the Photos tile on the Start screen or as the picture that’s shown on the lock screen.

Go to the photo you want to use, and tap or click it to open it.
Tap or click Set as, and then tap or click Photos tile.
Next time you're on Start, you'll tap or click that photo to open the Photos app.
(Optional) Crop the photo to fit the lock screen:
Tap or click Crop.
Tap or click Aspect ratio, and then tap or click Lock screen. A rectangle appears showing what part of the photo will display on the lock screen.
Move the photo to show the part of the photo you want to appear on the lock screen, and then tap or click Apply.
Save the photo.
Tap or click Set as, and then tap or click Lock screen.
