Windows Internet Explorer 9 lets your websites shine and perform just like native applications on your PC.
Make it your default browser
Get great search results from Bing, right from the address bar. Just start typing, and you'll see intelligent suggestions based on your search history.
Pin your favorite sites for one-click web access. To pin: drag the site's icon from the address bar to your taskbar.
Internet Explorer features help keep your data safer and more private. For example, websites you visit receive a Do Not Track request when you use Internet Explorer.
For more about privacy, see the
Windows Internet Explorer 9 privacy statement.
A change to note about your upgrade
Search suggestions in the address bar are turned on unless you previously turned them off. When you begin typing in the address bar, data may be sent to your search provider.
Settings have been saved
Your settings from Internet Explorer 8 for SmartScreen Filter, Suggested Sites, and Compatibility View lists have been saved. To improve your browsing experience in Internet Explorer 9, some limited additional data is collected.
Your favorite sites in one click
Pin your favorite sites to the Windows 7 taskbar and get to your sites without having to open Internet Explorer 9 first. Just drag the tab for a website to your taskbar and your site is a click away.
