Here are the basics about using the OneDrive app for Android.
Download the app from Google Play.
Download the app from the Amazon Appstore.
You can now add OneDrive for Business accounts to the OneDrive app for Android (on devices running Android 4.0 or later). To do this, open the OneDrive app, tap the OneDrive icon, and then tap Add a business account. If you want to sign in with OneDrive for Business account, your organization needs to have a qualifying SharePoint Online or Office 365 business subscription plan. You can't sign in with an account from an on-premises directory.
To add a personal account, enter your Microsoft account on the sign in page. To add a OneDrive for Business account, enter the email address you use for your company, school, or other organization.
If you have a problem signing in with your OneDrive for Business account, try signing in at http://portal.office.com/onedrive or contact your IT department.
Open the OneDrive app.
Choose where you want to upload the pictures to, tap the Upload button and then tap Upload photos and videos.
Choose the files you want to upload and tap UPLOAD.
In the OneDrive app, press and hold the file or folder you want to share and tap the Share button.
To give only specific people permission, choose Invite people, add the contacts, and then tap Send. To get a link that you can paste in a message, choose Share a link, choose View or Edit, and then tap OK. To download and attach the file, choose Send files, and then choose the app you want to use.
When you first sign in to
OneDrive, you'll be asked if you'd like to automatically upload photos and videos you take on your phone to OneDrive. Tap Turn on to turn on automatic upload. You can also turn this on from Settings. Here's how:
Open Settings and tap Camera backup.
Set Camera backup to ON.
If you want to ensure that camera backup is active only when the device is charging, select the Upload only when charging checkbox.
Camera backup is available only on devices running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or later.
All photos and videos will be uploaded at their original sizes when you're on a Wi‑Fi network. If you want to use your mobile network, open the OneDrive app, open Settings, tap Camera backup, tap Upload using, and choose Wi‑Fi and mobile network.
The camera roll on your device isn't kept in sync with the Camera roll folder in OneDrive. After photos and videos finish uploading, you can delete them from your device, and the copies in OneDrive won't be affected.
When you adjust your settings to automatically save photos you take to OneDrive, you will receive an additional 15 GB of free storage.
You can search for text within files and even photos. To search for text in a file or photo, type the phrase you want in the Search box.
Open the folder you want to sort, and then tap the Sort button. You can sort by name, date, or size.
Open the folder that has the files you want to download.
Tap the Switch view button to switch to selection mode, select the files that you want to download, and then tap the Save button.
Select the location where you want to save the downloaded files.
You can add a PIN code to help prevent other people who use your device from accidentally accessing, changing, or deleting your files.
In the OneDrive app, open Settings.
Tap Require code to use app, and then turn on Require code.
Enter a 4-digit code, and then enter it again to verify it.
To switch between a personal OneDrive account and a OneDrive for Business account, or between multiple OneDrive for Business accounts, tap the OneDrive icon, and then tap the account you want to use.
You can add only one personal account to the
OneDrive app. To open a different personal account, open Settings, tap your account name, tap Sign out, and then sign in with the account you want to use.
In the OneDrive app, open Settings and tap your account name to see your total storage and space available.
