Camera app privacy statement

What this app does

The Camera app allows you to take photos and videos with your PC and its attached devices.

Information collected, processed, stored, or transmitted

Photos and videos you take with the Camera app are saved to your Camera Roll, which may be backed up to OneDrive. To learn more, see the OneDrive section of the Windows privacy statement.

If you allow the Camera app to use your location, location data is embedded in the photos you take with your PC. Other descriptive information, such as camera model and the date that the picture was taken, may also be embedded in photos and videos. If you choose to share a photo or video, any embedded information may be accessible to others. For more info, see the Properties section.

Use of information

If you share photos or videos with a third-party app, use of the photos or video is subject to the third party's privacy policy. If you share photos or videos with a Microsoft app, the app's privacy practices are explained in its privacy statement.

Choice and control

You can choose whether to let the Camera app use your location in Settings for the Camera app. The Camera app can always use your PC’s webcam and microphone, even if you turn them off for other apps.
